26 Free Ruffle Yarn Patterns to Crochet

Look at these 12 ruffle yarn projects from across the internet PLUS another 14 offered free from Red Heart.

For my free September Monthly Inspiration pattern I was inspired to create something with leaves for fall, I've also been really eager to create something with ruffle yarn. Wandering through the yarn aisle at the department store I came across the perfect ribbon yarn in fall colors. But before I began my creation I wanted to get an idea of what other leaf patterns AND ruffle yarn patterns were being offered in the world of crochet. After hours of searching the internet I decided to offer what I found to save you the search time, which could be better invested in actually crocheting the item.

Since I searched for two different types of projects, I'm offering two posts this week. Click here to see the leaf project free patterns I found.

Crochet something out of the amazing ruffle yarn.

There are an awful lot of scarf patterns for using the ruffle yarn, and a lot of them look pretty much the same. Of course the scarves are quick and fun to make. But after a few scarves I get kind of tired of making the same thing over and over and I want to move on to something a little different. I love the look of ruffle yarn and it is a lot of fun to use once you get the hang of it, but I was beginning to think that the basic ruffle scarf was pretty much the only thing you could make with it. So I decided to do a quick interne search (which turned into hours) to find fun ruffle yarn projects beyond the scarf. I'm offering links to what I've found to save you the search time. Here are some great free patterns for baby through adult wearables and accessories, home d├ęcor projects, and yes even a few scarves.  Just click on the photo below and you'll be taken directly to the site and page of the pattern.

I really want to try my hand at the Sashay Yarn Purse from Amy's Free Crochet Patterns. I would also love to make the Ruffled Shells Hat, but unfortunately I don't have any little ones in my life to give it to ... I may make one anyways and sick I away to use as a baby gift when the opportunity arises.

I love all the free patterns that Red Heart has to offer. They also have a great variety of ruffle yarns to choose from. My favorites from these choices are the Vortex Scarf and the Rumba Pillow.
